book: punk’s fight

i was at the library here in singapore, and this book just jumped out at me somehow, while i was browsing books nearby on the shelf.

it’s certainly not a profound book, although the whole question of the wars in iraq and afghanistan makes it more poignant than it might be otherwise. in any event, the military action was well-written and once i got started, it was difficult to put down. overall, a fun read. and you do get a sense of respect for the people fighting, even if you disagree with the war itself. what’s ironic in a way to me, is that the war in afghanistan, which most of the world viewed as just and right, is being tainted by the war in iraq, which most of the world viewed as wrong.
