me on twinity and starting a business
business, events, metaversum March 12th, 2009i was at barcamp a while ago, as previously mentioned. there were a couple of students or young professionals that i met there who got me talking for a while about twinity and doing business in general. you can read more about it at the vietnam blog. apparently, here’s my advice for people starting a business:
Business tips from Jeremy Snyder
1) When starting a business, put in the extra 2-3 hours that is required to make show that everything is setup legally. It prevents personal liability whether other people can come to you and say you’ve messed up and I want my money back for it.
2) Stick to focusing on what your good at and outsource the rest. If your willing to make your business succeed its worth spending a little bit of extra money to outsource what you are not good at.
3) Design an experience around your product. Take iTunes for instance, it’s a pretty flat experience. You click a link and you get to hear a short sample of a track. Most successful advertising shows you an image around the product and creates a desire to adopt a specific lifestyle. It gets your imagination working. Virtual world allows you to design an experience around a product better. One can complete the design of a shop with decorations, image and then embed the product.
