i just finished reading orson scott card‘s book “ender in exile”

in the end, i have to say that i agree with one of the comments on amazon. i wanted to like this more than i did. i enjoyed it nonetheless, but as a very strong enderverse fan, i felt that this was not card’s best work in the series. i also felt like some of the storylines were haphazard and random. for instance, i don’t remember any mention of quincy morgan anywhere outside this book, and that whole story was unnecessary and took way too much space that could have gone to something more core to ender’s story. still, as a concept, i liked the ‘midquel’, filling in the gaps a bit. it was a fun read, but didn’t have a deeper impact. after the other books, whether ender-centric or bean-centric, i had grown to expect a bit more.
