yes, somehow i hadn’t read this yet, so i went out and got the audiobook of it. i’m really psyched with the audiobook, because i end up having time either over lunch or while on public transport to listen to things. so i just finished reading/listening to the tipping point:

i think the wikipedia summary of the book is pretty good, and reminds you of a lot of the core concepts.

  • the law of the few / the agents of change
  • connectors, salesmen and mavens
  • the stickiness factor
  • the power of context
  • the rule of 150 – somehow that one was more important to me than some of the others. i think it’s because we’re so hyper-connected with social networking tools that this reminded me that there’s an inner ring of friends that is more powerful or more meaningful to me.

the book was a really pleasant read, not too scientifically bogged down with terms and figures to make it dry, and not too story-telling to make it lose the power of the message or anything. the examples were interesting and well explained. overall, as i’m sure many have said before, i really enjoyed it.
